2003 Annual Awards Banquet
It is at this banquet that we honor swimmers, coaches and volunteers for their outstanding achievements and contributions to Connecticut Swimming. Nearly four hundred swimmers were recognized for the Top 16 swims in each individual event and forty scholar-athletes were recognized for academic and athletic excellence. Steve Carroll, General Chair, extended special thanks to Peter Boucher and Wendy Jackwin, Banquet Coordinators, for their huge effort and success of this banquet.

Ben Michaelson
For four consecutive years, CSI Senior Committee has named Ben Michaelson Swimmer of the Year. Ben is currently the 3rd ranked American in the 100M Butterfly and holds many records including the American Record in the SCM 100 Butterfly. Ben swims for Tim Quill, Head Coach of SoNoCo Swimming. Ben is a 2004 Olympic hopeful and will be attending the Olympic Trials in Long Beach, CA this summer.

Michael Prout, Jr.
Between the two of them Deborah and Michael hold numerous World and American Records and have been selected to the US Paralympic National A Team. Both are serious contenders for the Paralymics in Greece this summer.

Bonnie Fisher
Bonnie Fisher has been a long-time CSI and WYW volunteer and most recently managed the zone teams. Bonnie has served as Meet Director for both Age Group and Senior Championships and has served on numerous committees. We will all miss Bonnie as she takes up residency in Florida.

Coach of the Year
Tim Quill
Long-time Connecticut coach and current Head Coach of SoNoCo Swimming, Tim has produced over 100 USA National top 16 age group performers, as well as many national and US Open qualifiers along with Ben Michaelson, American Record Holder. Coach Quill, an active board member of Connecticut Swimming since 1995, is past chair of the Senior Committee and serves on the USA Swimming National Camps Committee.

Jon Levine
Jon has been coaching since 1973 and has developed numerous swimmers who have competed in college and set records in college programs, including Yale, UCONN, URI, Syracuse and many others. As head coach of the Aquabears for the past 16 years, he has continued to produce some of the top age group swimmers in Connecticut, including many CT Age Group Champions and National Top 16 swimmers. Jon currently serves on the Technical Planning Committee.

Connecticut Swimming is pleased to announce that the 2003 Annual Awards Banquet will be held Sunday November 2, 2003 at the Aqua Turf. It is at this event that we recognize our athletes and coaches for their outstanding performance.
Selection Criteria: Invitations are extended to Scholar-Athletes and athletes achieving Connecticut Top 16 times from all the meets in the 2002-2003 short course season and 2003 long course season in an individual event in the following age groups: 10/U, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16, 17/18 and Senior. This includes the Open Water Championship.
Below is a list of athletes invited to the banquet. If your name is on the list, please download the Athlete Reservation Packet , print it and mail the forms according to the directions provided YOU MUST MAIL IN A RESERVATION FORM IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE BANQUET. Deadline is October 6, 2003.
Club Affiliation: Swimmers are listed by club that he/she was registered with when an individual Connecticut Top 16 time was achieved. If a swimmer changed clubs during the 2002-2003 season and achieved Connecticut Top 16 times with both clubs, then that swimmer will be listed twice with both clubs. Please indicate the club you would like to sit with at the banquet on your reservation form.
