National Top 16
Finalists and
Scholastic All-America Team
The 2004-2005 National Top 16 Finalists and Scholastic All-American Team are finalized! Eighteen CSI athletes achieved National Age Group rankings in both short course and long course. These times were tabulated between September 1, 2004 and August 31, 2005 from all fifty-nine of USA Swimming's LSCs. Consideration for Top 16 is open to all USA Swimming-registered athletes competing in USA Swimming sanctioned, observed or approved meets. National times are verified and submitted to USA Swimming by Larry Frost, NTV Officer. Thanks, Larry!
Notably, CSI had three #1 Finalists: Elizabeth Pelton (WYW), Daniel Madwed (SHKS) and WYW 15/18 Boys Freestyle Relay. Elizabeth is ranked #1 in the 10/U 50Y Freestyle, 100Y Freestyle, 50Y Backstroke and 50Y Butterfly (National Age Group Record); Daniel is ranked #1 in the 15/16 100M and 200M Butterfly; and Phil Baity, Rob Hannigan, Andrew Trepp and Jeffrey Sudbury in the 200Y Freestyle Relay.
Another sixteen Connecticut athletes have qualified for USA Swimming's Scholastic All-America Team. High school student-athletes, who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and have competed in an individual event in any of the following meets: ConocoPhillips Nationals, US Open, World and World University Game Trials, National Disability Championships, Speedo Championship Series (sectionals), and Open Water National Championships are eligible. Applications are available in January and close August 1st of each year. Jump to Scholastic All-American List.
Congratulations to all National Top 16 and Scholastic All-America Finalists!!
