Letter from the Frost family:
January 6, 2006
Larry Frost, long-time Connecticut Swimming volunteer, passed away recently at his home in Guilford, CT. For nearly ten years, Larry had served Connecticut Swimming (CSI) in many capacities. He was the current National Times Officer, CSI Record and Top 16 Tabulator. Previously, Larry had served on the Board of Directors as secretary, ran the computer at numerous CSI championship meets and served as entry chair for many zone teams. He was the recipient of the USA Swimming Phillips 66 Service Award in 2002; an award he truly deserved.
It was not unusual to see Larry sitting behind a computer at a swim meet or at home, giving countless hours of his time to the "electronic" side of our sport. His work was flawless and meticulous. Every athlete's swim or time was important. His friendly manner and positive attitude make him the person you wanted to work with and many other volunteers did enjoy his company on the pool deck. Larry will be deeply missed by Connecticut Swimming and his contribution will be remembered for many years to come.
Swimming is a family-affair for the Frosts. Maggie Frost coached for many years and continued as a parent volunteer after retiring from coaching. Daughter Patti, swam and dives competitively, winning the CIAC High School Open Diving Championship in 2001. Daughter Kristen, holds many CSI records, is an Olympic Trial qualifier in the 400M and 800M freestyle and holds many Senior National qualifying times.
Funeral Arrangements:
The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Madison, CT. The address is 20 Meetinghouse Lane (right off the green in Madison).
