Committee Reports:
Senior Committee:
The time standards for the 2006 LC Senior Champs have been approved by SR Committee. Cheryl Lozach will be meet manager.
Age Group:
All set for Age Groups this summer. Chris Hug will be meet manager and director
at Wesleyan, Peter will be director at Cheshire.
Regionals – East Hartford has not approved the use of their pool for Regionals and will decide before June 1.
The events for the long course meet have been changed to mirror the short course meet, split 13-14 & 15-18.
Zones – the mandatory pre-registration for short course zones was dropped. At this time the coordinators felt the plans could be made without it. Also, dropping the pre-registration would allow swimmers to participate that in years past were not eligible because they missed the pre-registration deadlines.
Held the Ultimate Technique Clinic 2 weeks ago, big success. Thanks for Joanne McCaffery and Jen Lyman for their help. The fees that were charged and the discounts for pool rental made the camp completely self sustaining.
Technical Planning:
Met in Feb., need another meeting, hopefully within the next 4-6 weeks.
At last meeting, much discussion involved an A-B standards for the 1650 and 1000 events. Allowing swimmers who make one cut to swim the other event at Age Groups. 5 votes to approve.
Old Business: None
New Business:
Long Course Senior Open Championship Time Standards – presented by Jeff
Allen. SR Committee took the 50th place time avg. from the last 3 years. The women’s LC times got faster but the short course stayed same because if they converted the LC times the yard times standards would be slower than they presently are. Made the men’s non conforming times faster to encourage more swimmers entering with meter times. Motion made and seconded to approve the senior committee’s 2006 LC Senior Champs time standards.
Meet scheduling proposal, motion made to accept age group subcommittee’s 2006-2007 Short Course Meet Schedule Configuration. Presented by Chris Hug. Motion made and seconded to use the meet schedule configuration as a guideline for the upcoming 2006-2007 Short Course Season, but not as the rules for configuring that season. 4 votes in favor of motion, 1 against.
Next Meeting Date: June 13th
Meeting Adjourned: 10:00pm
