Chair Sean Farrell called the meeting to order at 7:40 pm at the High Plains Community Center, Orange.
Present: Jeff Allen, Peter Boucher, Kayleigh Boucher, Sean Farrell, Bill Krumm, Barry Silver and Meg Whitaker.
Absent: Nick Cavataro, Jason Paige, and Dave Reilly.
Also Present: Nan Cooper, Mike Huffman and Joanne Lindberg.
Approval of Agenda: Approved as published.
Approval of Minutes: May 11, 2004 minutes were approved.
Old Business
None.
Committee Reports
Senior Committee: All-Connecticut or All-Senior team artwork is complete and caps will be given to team members. SC Senior Championship meet announcement is in the works. Next Senior Committee meeting agenda item will be LC senior championship problems that were encountered last summer. The committee would like all problems with work assignments, etc. resolved before the start of the meet. The YMCA has appointed Jeff Allen to the IOC as the YMCA representative.
Age Group: Age Group Committee has met twice since October and has 4 new members: Jen Lyman, coach; Jo Ann McCaffrey, coach; Chris Hug, parent; and Libbie Mayhew, parent. A sub-committee will convene to develop a structure for the age group camps. Summer Zones was successful and better organized. Zone Committee will continue to provide support and continuity and will facilitate zone coordinator and coach communication. Currently, the committee is reviewing requests for changes to the LC age group championship meet. Thus far, the 18/U relays have been changed to 13/18 relays.
Technical Planning: No report.
New Business
2005 Age Group Championship Time Standards: Motion made to adopt full-year time standards (short course meet and long course meet) as put forth by George Miles, Times Standards Chair. Discussion and then approved.
LC Regional Championships Configuration: Motion to hold two meets, one 12/U meet and one 13/O meet, in two 8-lane venues with the following changes to the order of events: 1.) all Friday evening events will be held at one location 2.) the 800 free will be conducted on Saturday 3.) the 1500 free will be conducted on Sunday 3.) the 13/O 400 free and 400 IM will held conducted Friday evening with the 12/U 400 freestyle held between the 13/O events. Discussion and approved. Recommendation to Program Operations that the 12/U meet be held at Cheshire and the 13/O meet at Wesleyan and that bids be solicited for two meets. The number of sessions would then be determined based on the number of entries received.
