Message from Jim Sheehan, USA Swimming Officials Committee: As part of the initiatives toward increased communications and consistency, the officials committee wanted to create two specialty e-mail addresses at USA swimming to receive suggestions, comments, questions, and submissions in relation to our “ On The Same Page” section as well as the “Situations” section. These have now been set up as follows:
Both of these addresses have been posted to the USA site in the appropriate places as well as in the “Official Word” article in the October edition of Swimming World magazine.
The “On The Same Page” topic is located on the USA swimming web site under the Volunteer/Officials tab. The Situations topic is located under Training Resources, also under the Officials tab.
The situations were assembled as a training tool to help provide education to our officials. They have been compiled from a wide array of sources and a majority of them represent real-life occurrences. The “On The Same Page” section will focus on news items and issues of interest to the officiating community. The goal is to provide all officials with the information, resources, forms, etc. to enable us to be ‘on the same page’ when it comes to officiating.
If you have items that might be of interest in either of these areas you may use the above e-mail addresses to send them in.
