Dear Swimmer:

You are cordially invited to the annual Connecticut Swimming Awards Banquet in recognition of your outstanding performance during the 2001-2002 season. The banquet will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2002.

We are extremely pleased to announce that this year’s banquet will once again be held at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT. Registration is scheduled from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. The banquet will begin promptly after registration.

Awards will be presented ONLY to those swimmers in attendance. Invitations have been mailed to the following swimmers:

Top 16 Connecticut Swimmers in each individual event in each age group, including Open Water Championships

Connecticut Scholar Athlete

If you are presently at college, prep school out-of-state or have moved out-of-state and will be unable to join us at the banquet but wish to have your award sent to you, please complete the enclosed form and return it to Peter Boucher no later than September 27, 2002. You must have an out-of-state address to have your award sent to you. If you have any further questions please feel free to call Peter Boucher at 860-649-7368.

In anticipation of a large number of swimmers attending, guests other than the swimmer’s parent(s) may have to be limited. However, an additional reservation form is attached and should be completed if additional guests would like to come. Since the Aqua Turf is a large facility, we do not anticipate any difficulty fulfilling these requests. However, the additional requests will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, as space permits, after all swimmer and parent(s) requests have been met. The completed reservation forms should mailed to Peter Boucher by September 27, 2002. Any reservations received after September 27, 2002 cannot be guaranteed. The additional guests will be notified no later than October 5th, only if their reservation CANNOT be accommodated.

Connecticut Swimming, Inc. is giving each swimmer invited to the banquet the opportunity to purchase a swim jacket. This custom made Boathouse jacket is only available to those swimmers invited to the Awards Banquet. The jacket orders are to be sent to Nan Cooper. NO ORDERS WILL BE TAKEN AT THE BANQUET.

Enclosed are a BANQUET RESERVATION FORM, an OUT-OF-STATE AWARDS FORM, a CONNECTICUT SWIMMING JACKET ORDER FORM and DIRECTIONS. All forms must be completed and returned to the appropriate parties no later than September 27th. Those arriving after the 27th will not be guaranteed. Any express deliveries, which require a recipient's signature, will not be accepted.

JACKET ORDER FORM

Connecticut Swimming Inc. is pleased to present the awards jacket, a custom made weathershirt manufactured by Boathouse Inc. The weathershirt is constructed from Supplex®, a high performance fabric that feels like cotton, but pound for pound is stronger than steel. Supplex® is highly breathable, colorfast and fade resistant and is treated with a Teflon finish for maximum water repellency. The royal color weathershirt sports gold stretch shoulder gussets, which allow for maximum mobility. Other features include: extended tail, wind collar, nylon knit cuffs, a waist drawcord along with full weatherblock lining, a zippered side pocket and an extra long 13’’ front zipper. Additionally, "Connecticut Swimming" in gold block type print outlined in white will be screen printed on each jacket back. CSI’s logo will be embroidered on the left chest and the swimmer’s name, if desired, will be embroidered on the right chest.
