HEAD ASSISTANT COACH

Job Description:
The Westport Weston Family Y Water Rat Swim team is seeking a full-time Head Assistant Coach. Working both cooperatively and independently under the direction of the Head Coach, the Head Assistant Coach is responsible for development and execution of the 8/Under and Pre-Competitive Squads. The Head Assistant Coach would be responsible for development and execution of other Age Group and Senior squads. Responsibilities include management and administrative duties in addition to on-deck coaching. Candidate must possess an effective, respectful communication style towards parents, swimmers, Board members and coaching staff.
Qualifications include a four- year college degree as well as certifications required to coach YMCA and USA swim teams, including Red Cross or YMCA Coaches Safety Training, minimum ASCA Level II Coach, CPR/AED, First Aid and Lifeguarding. Excellent interpersonal skills and a minimum of 3 years competitive coaching experience are required.
Salary: Commensurate with experience

ASSISTANT COACHES WANTED
The Westport Weston Family Y Water Rat Swim team is currently soliciting candidates for multiple Assistant Coaches to work with our Pre-Competitive, Age Group and Senior programs. We are seeking energetic and outgoing coaches. The Water Rats are one of Connecticut’s largest teams, maintaining a Team of 200+ swimmers ranging in age from 6-18. The Assistant Coaches, working under the direction of the Head Coach, will have coaching hours Monday—Saturday. The Assistant Coaches will also coach weekend meet sessions one or two weekends per month. Successful candidates will have previous coaching/swimming experience either as a coach or lessons instructor. The Westport Water Rats practice at the Westport YMCA as well as at Staples HS. We are looking for the right Coaches to help us continue our growth and improvement.
Candidates must have or be willing to obtain: CPR, First Aid and USA Swimming Coaching Certifications. Previous coaching experience and computer skills are preferred. Wages are hourly and benefits include membership to our newly expanded YMCA. Education, certification, and travel expenses provided.
