MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.
MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed finals.
SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive scratch sheets which must be returned 40 minutes prior to the start of each session.
FACILITY: The Suffield Academy pool is a 6-lane pool with 6-lane electronic timing and display. There is ample spectator seating.
DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is available in the main parking lot. Deck access is via the women’s locker room. Contact the meet director for more information.

SESSION TIMES:

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. .
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.
ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may compete in 5 individual events plus relays.
ENTRY TIMES: Submit entry times in SCY. No Times are discouraged.
DEADLINES: Entry deadline is November 11, 2008. Mail hardcopy and payment to the entry chairperson: Jon Levine, 4 Northwoods Road, North Granby, CT, 06060. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. Electronic files, paperwork, and fees must be received by the entry deadline.
ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at Aquabears@cox.net. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. The "official entry date" is when the entry fees and paperwork arrive.
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $5.00 for individual events, and $8.00 for relays. Manual entries: $6.00 for individual events, and $10.00 for relays. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: Please make checks payable to Aquabears and mail to: Jon Levine, 4 Northwoods Road, North Granby, CT, 06060. Payment must be received by 11/11/2008.
CUT PROTOCOL: The Aquabears will limit each session to 4 hours. If the meet is oversubscribed, entries will be accepted based on the date when the entry fees and paperwork are received. Relays will be cut first. Clubs will be notified of cuts no later than Monday before the meet.
PLEASE NOTE: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement, deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified of changes no later than Monday before the meet.
RELAYS: There are no relay limitations. All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the meet.
SAFETY:
RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.
TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $10.00 for individual events and $20.00 for relays.
TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be asked to supply timers in relationship to the size of their entry. Teams supplying names of parents willing to officiate will have their timing assignments adjusted.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.
SCORING: The meet will be scored to 12 places in individual events.
AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the top 12 overall swimmers in each individual age group. Points will be awarded to 12 places in each event, and then totaled. In case of ties, places will be determined by I.M. times. Swimmers must swim all 5 events to be eligible for a trophy, but may swim fewer for time.

PARKING: Parking is only allowed in the designated lot at the bottom of the hill. No parking is allowed on the hill.
DIRECTIONS: From south of Suffield: Take I-91 to Exit 38. Turn right onto RT 75 (North) and continue through Windsor Locks, into Suffield (approx. 8 miles). In the center of Suffield you will pass through two lights that are twenty yards apart. Suffield Academy is immediately on the left after the second light, at the end of the town green. The pool is at the bottom of the hill on the left, and the parking lot is on the right.
