MEET CLASSIFICATION: This meet is open to all USA Swimming athletes and clubs.

MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals

SCRATCH PROCEDURES: Coaches will receive a scratch sheet for session of the meet in the coaches package. Coaches must return all scratch sheets 15 minutes after the start of warm-ups. Failure to turn in scratch sheet by stated time, can/may be subject to automatic scratch and will be taken into consideration by meet referee.

FACILITY: Middletown High School pool: One 6-lane, 25-yard course with Colorado electronic timing. Pool depth ranges from 5ft. to 13ft. There is ample deck and spectator seating.

DISABLED ACCESS: Handicapped parking is available in the front of the high school. Please use the entrance located on the far left, in the front of the main building. The spectator area is accessible from main entrance. Swimmers will access the pool deck, which is to the left as you enter the building. Entry to the locker rooms is from the pool deck.

WARM-UPS: CT Swimming Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect. The 500 Free events will have a separate 10-minute warm-up if time allows.

ELIGIBILITY: All athletes must be current athlete members of USA Swimming. Age on the first day of the meet shall determine the swimmer’s age and age group for the meet. 8/U’s will not be eligible to swim in this meet. Any swimmer who is entered and is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until registration is completed. All coaches must present a valid USA Swimming coach card to the Meet Director prior to the commencement of any sanctioned swim meet, and must have this card with them while on deck.

ADAPTED SWIMMING: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary then the coach or athlete must notify the meet referee of any disability prior to competition.

EVENT INFORMATION: This is a Freestyle meet.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers can enter and compete in 4 events per session, and no more than 5 events per day.

ENTRY TIMES: Swimmers are eligible for all events. There are no cut-off times. No Times are discouraged.

DEADLINES: Entry deadline is: Friday, October 17th, 2008. Formal entry is determined by the date of receipt of hard copy of the entry and entry fee. All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chair at sjordan@peco1938.com. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. Remember, formal entry is determined by the date of receipt of hard copy of the entry and entry fee.

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $4.50 for individual events, Manual entries: $5.00 for individual events, No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry

If using Express mail, remember to sign the waiver so package will be left.

CUT PROTOCOL: All entries are first come first serve basis. The host team reserves the right to limit the number of heats in the 500yd Free, so as to adhere to the 4-hour rule. All teams will be notified no later than October 20th, 2008 of any cuts or changes.

RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with prior approval from Program Operations. Clubs will be notified no later than October 20th, 2008 of any cuts or changes.

RELAYS: No relays are scheduled for this meet.

SAFETY:

  1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm-down areas at any time
  2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site.
  3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility.
  4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups.
  5. No electronic devices with cameras are permitted in the locker rooms.

RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.

TIME TRIALS: No

TIMERS, OFFICIALS OR WORK ASSIGNMENTS: Teams will be required to provide timers and workers based on size of entry. Teams must provide their own timers and counters for 500yd FREE events. If your team has an official who would be able to assist with the meet, please submit their name with the entry.

DECK ACCESS: The spectator area is accessible from main entrance (As you face the high school, use entrance on the far left) Swimmers will access the pool deck, which is to the left as you enter the building. Entry to the locker rooms is from the pool deck. Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are permitted on the pool deck.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: No Awards

CONCESSIONS: Food and drinks will be sold at the meet.

HOSPITALITY FOR COACHES AND OFFICIALS: Yes

PARKING: Please be aware that the entrance to the school is marked as one-way. There is ample parking. Please do not park directly in front of school.

DIRECTIONS: (Middletown) From Rte 9 North and South, take Exit 11. At end of exit, take Left onto Randolph Road. Follow Randolph Rd approx 2 miles. Take Right onto Hunting Hill Rd. Middletown High School is on the right approx 4/10 mile. Entrance to the high school is marked as one-way.
