USA Swimming Membership Verification
Meet hosts conducting USA/CT Swimming sanctioned meets are obligated to
verify the membership of athletes, coaches and officials participating
in the meet and/or serving in an official capacity. Additionally, Meet Directors
are required to be members of USA Swimming.
Athlete Membership Verification
- Connecticut Swimming athletes verification should be checked by host
club using Connecticut
FAST .
Go to Connecticut
FAST and
select Meet Verification File. Upload the exported *.sd3 membership file
from your meet software. The query will return a list of unregistered
CT athletes or athletes with incorrect USA IDs.
- Run this membership file immediately after your all entries are received
and notify clubs of unregistered athletes immediately.
- Make corrections to USA ID numbers if necessary.
- Connecticut Swimming athlete USA ID numbers are available using
Connecticut
FAST .
Please call the CSI office at 860.657.1164 for login information.
- Make corrections to LSC or Club name.
- Out-of-State athletes must be verified by the CSI office or the LSC of
the visiting club. Meet hosts should email a *.sd3 membership file to
office@ctswim.org when out of state
teams are participating. Please send
this file immediately after all entries are received.
- Athletes that are not registered may not compete in sanctioned meets.
Please stay in close communication with clubs about unregistered athletes.
Coach Membership Verification
- Every individual acting in a coaching capacity at a meet must be asked
to show a current USA Swimming Coach card. Please note the expiration
date on the card (this varies with every coach) and verify that the card is
a coach card. Non-athlete cards are not acceptable.
- CSI posts a roster of current Connecticut Swimming coaches on its
website. Download this roster and bring it to the meet. Use it
to verify CT coaches that have lost or forgotten their card.
- If a coach cannot produce a current card and is not on the coach roster,
but claims to be fully certified and a registered member of USA Swimming,
he/she may fill out a Coach Attestation Form.
- All meet directors and referees should review this form carefully.
It carries responsibilities for the Meet Director and Referee.
- Signed attestation forms must be delivered to the CSI office
immediately after the meet. Fax to 860.657.1164
- Out of state coaches must present a current USA Swimming coach card at
the meet.
Official Verification
- Generally, the Meet Referee will check membership cards for officials, unless other arrangements have been made between the Referee
and Meet Director.
Meet Director
- The Meet Director should be registered as non-athletes well in advance
of the meet.
