Meet Bids Re-Opened; Age Group Championship Updates; Fall SC Season meets; APT for Adult Athletes

Program Development has voted to revise the Championship Schedule for the 2020 Short Course Season.  This could impact how host teams choose the types of meets to run, or the dates of competition. For this reason, Program Operations will re-open Short Course bidding for any meets scheduled from January 1st through Championships.  Host Teams may add, revise or retract any meets within this time frame.  Bidding will close on August 15th.

Age Group Championship Warm-Up Assignments and final psych sheets (revised) are posted.

  • Thursday Evening scratches will be taken by emailing office@ctswim.org by 8 PM, Wednesday, July 24. Emailed scratches will not be taken after this deadline. No telephone/text scratches. Late scratches may be accepted at the discretion of the Referee if submitted to the Referee with explanation in writing prior to the beginning of warm-ups. NOTE WELL:  The 12/U Thursday Evening session times are approximate and will be updated on the CSI website by approximately 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

The Preliminary Schedule for Fall 2019 and SC Championship Meets has been posted.  It is subject to change.

Athlete Protection Training (APT) is now required for all athletes when they turn 18.  Failure to complete the training invalidates the athletes' eligibility to swim in USA/CT Swimming sanctioned or approved meets.  USA Swimming is sending out emails to athletes as they turn 18, but since most athlete registrations do not include the athlete's email, the email is going to one of the swimmers' parents.  The email does NOT make clear that it is referring to the registered swimmer, resulting in confusion on the part of many parents.  The APT remains optional for parents, but is now required for all nonathlete members, and all swimmers aged 18 or over.
