How do I become an official for USA Swimming in CT?

  1. Register online as a member of Connecticut and USA Swimming (New Account Instructions) - please be aware that this is NOT separate account/login from the parent portal you use for your swimmer. You just need to register as an Official and your account will update with an Official's Membership card.
    1. For first time registrants, ask your respective Team for a "Registration Link."  For renewals, your Team will register you if they opted in for Bulk renewal or you do it with one click on your Dashboard in SWIMS.
    2. Click the link, follow the prompts and be sure to select "official" as the type of non-athlete member.
    3. Complete a Background Check and Athlete Protection Training (details below)
    4. Send an email to the Officials Chair at officials@ctswim.org to request trainee status once you have completed your Background Check, APT and Concussion Protocol Training.
  2. Take the Foundations of Officiating course available at USA Swimming University. (USA Swimming University)
  3. Take the Stroke & Turn Certification Course available at USA Swimming University. (USA Swimming University)
